Just back from our last Independent America duty (at least from a field production point of view). Fittingly, we got to our KUOW interview by parking our car and cutting through a Rite-Aid.
After, we celebrated by eating at Fremont's Paseo restaurant -- great food, nonchalant service. No, we're not about to go to McDonald's (nestled inside a Wal-Mart next door to a Home Depot) tomorrow on our way home to British Columbia in a corporate chain binge after so much painful self-denial. Though I did help my father-in-law choose an iPod last night at Best Buy (try looking for a Mom & Pop in suburban Seattle that'll sell one of those newfangled contraptions).
The chat with Ross Reynolds from the Seattle NPR affiliate was far-ranging, and entirely enjoyable. It was the best set-up we've seen in all the interviews we've done, and I was even able to get a direct audio feed into my camera. We hope this is the last frame of video we'll shoot for a while.
